Providing Better Treatment with Diagnostics
Pet diagnosing an illness, injury, or another problem is not as simple as performing a physical exam. The challenge of pet diagnostics is having to understand the problem with a patient that can't answer questions or tell you how they're feeling. That's why The Animalife Veterinary Center uses advanced, in-depth diagnostic tools to more successfully detect, diagnose, and treat various health conditions in pets. In addition, we apply the most up-to-date techniques to ensure that every pet diagnostics procedure is as comfortable as possible for each patient.
Our hospital offers a full testing laboratory, digital X-ray machine, and ultrasound to best serve the pet community.
Ultrasound: Creating an Image with Echoes
We're very pleased to offer ultrasound as one of our diagnostic services. As effective for pets as it is for humans, ultrasound uses sound waves and echoes to produce an image. During a procedure, a small probe sends out high-frequency sound waves as it is gently massaged over the skin. These sound waves bounce off the soft tissue organs and produce echoes, which the ultrasound machine picks up and converts into a moving image we can view on a screen.
This non-invasive procedure enables us to view the abdominal organs in more detail and assess not only their size but also their shape, texture, blood supply, and overall function. With ultrasound we can diagnose:
- Various heart defects
- Bladder stones
- Abdominal fluid
- Tumors and cysts
